Dato Sebastian on the new CM
Publicity Chief, Dato’ Sebastian Ting welcomed the news of YAB CM Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud getting Tan Sri Adenan Satem as his successor as a right move towards the betterment of Sarawak.
Taib who has been the Chief Minister of Sarawak for 33 years, from 1981 to 2014, has done a great deal for the Sarawakians and handing over the baton to Tan Sri Adenan Satem is leaving Sarawak in safe hands, he said.
The announcement was made on the 12th Feb 2014 after Taib called on TYT and submitted his letter of resignation as CM of Sarawak effective on 28th Feb 2014.
Ting said:
(1) Sarawak has progressed and developed well and indeed she is now the 2nd richest state in Malaysia, after Selangor.
(2) We have Peace, Racial and Religious Harmony, Unity and total mutual acceptance of and respect for all our races. Religion has never been an issue in Sarawak, including the use of the word ” Allah” .
(3) We have seen Economic growth, Development and Stability and the rise of living standard of Sarawakians as a whole.,
(4) The excellent relationship between Sarawak and Federal governments
(5) Private Universities were built.
(6) Most important of all, only Sarawakians and Sarawak=based Political Parties can safeguard and protect the best interest of Sarawak and her people.
I wish YAB CM Pehin Sri happy retirement and most people believe that he will continue to share his thoughts and where necessary, provide useful advice for the greater good and benefit to Sarawak as a whole.
As for the 5th Chief Minister of Sarawak, YB Tan Sri Adenan Satem, SUPP and I firmly believe that with his vast experience as State and a former Federal Minister, and his capabilities, Sarawak will benefit tremendously..
SUPP and I will fully support the new CM and we are confident that he will lead Sarawak to the next level of Unity, Peace and Harmony, total Acceptance and mutual respect of all Races, Culture and Religion, not forgetting the overall development of Sarawak, in town and more so in the rural areas where more must be done, on urgent basis, in respect of electricity, water supplies and road construction.
We firmly believe the new CM will be the CM for all the people and races in Sarawak and that the best interest of Sarawak and Sarawakians shall be protected at all times.
