Allocation for flood mitigation projects for Batu Kitang and Batu Kawah
The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has been allocated RM30 million for flood mitigation projects. Chairman of the Council, Lo Khere Chiang said the amount was approved by the Ministry of Local Government under Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian. “Most of the projects will be carried out in major areas like Batu Kitang and Batu Kawah,” he told reporters yesterday after chairing a full council meeting. Public encouraged to report illegal dumping in Stampin Resettlement Scheme
Chairman of the Council, Lo Khere Chiang Today recently visited an illegal dumping site in Stampin Resettlement Scheme, hoping to bring more awareness among the public about the dangers of illegal dumping and the council is very concerned about the environment. Donations for SMK Bandar Sarikei
Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Teng Ung Woo witnessed the handing over of 100 chairs to SMK Bandar Sarikei donated by Persatuan Persahabatan Zong Ho Sarikei and donated RM1000 for Teachers’ Welfare Fund. 实旦宾徙置区非法垃圾场问题
砂人联党巴都吉当区州议员兼巴达旺市议会主席罗克强与人联青宣教秘书符祥威于今日前往视察实旦宾徙置区的非法垃圾场。 罗克强对于这种非法垃圾场的形成深感失望，并强调市议会非常关注环境卫生的课题。 他希望社会大众可以理解非法垃圾场带来的危害。 他举例，非法垃圾场不仅影响美观，还会导致排水系统阻塞的问题，尤其是在雨天时，堆积的垃圾将影响排水，引起水患。他呼吁民众积极合作，向市议员或相关单位举报非法垃圾场。 “我们希望民众与市议会携手，对付非法垃圾场的问题，以还给这城市一个美观环境。” 罗克强说，民众可以拨打垃圾服务公司Trienekens的热线082-612300，以收集他们的废物。 他表示，为了避免非法垃圾场的问题，市议会与Trienekens公司和公共工程局展开紧密合作。
