公共投诉局处理建筑材料填沟问题
砂拉越人民联合党公共投诉局主任叶耀星日前接获来自Taman Hong Hong, Jalan BurungLilin 的居民投诉有屋主私自修筑涵洞及把剩余的建筑材料填入沟渠以作为接驳自家土地的用途。 收到投诉后，叶耀星与巴达旺市议会执法单位及工程部官员前往现场实地考察以寻求解决方案。 在非法施工现场视察中，巴达旺市议会执法单位根据1994年建筑物法典第8A条文发出停工通知。另外也在1996年地方议会法令第131(1)(a)条文下发出通知要求屋主在14天内把沟渠恢复到原本的状态。 该屋主现已将涵洞移走，砂拉越人民联合党公共投诉局在此感谢屋主与巴达旺市议会合作，有效地解决问题。 砂拉越人民联合党公共投诉局提醒居民不要把剩余的建筑材料填入沟渠以充当自家土地用途。这会影响水流量进而导致水灾。 人联公共投诉局已做好准备并尝试通过相关部门解决影响社区的公共议题。人联党公共投诉局已准备好为面对相关问题却不懂得如何处理的民众伸出援手。任何相关事宜可联系人联党公共投诉（016-7797688或082246999）或亲临人联党总部。
Community Police are the eyes and ears of the local authority
Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian yesterday reminded the Community Police of their role as the eyes and ears of the local authority – but not only to assist the police but also to channel the voice of the people to the local authority. Complaints of dumping of culverts and building waste materials by residents at Taman Hong Hong
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) was recently approached by the residents staying at Taman Hong Hong, Jalan Burung Lilin. Their spokesperson complained of dumping of culverts and building waste materials for construction of an access to a house by the owner. 选民注册与更换选区服务
砂拉越人民联合党拿督沈桂贤服务团队及石角民众服务中心将在本星期日（26日）举行新选民注册及更换投票选区服务。 有关活动从当天上午10时，至下午1时30分，于石角民众服务中心举行。石角民众服务中心位于石角拿督张君光大桥旁38商业中心，面向大路商店。 主办单位呼吁尚未注册的适龄民众到时前往注册，至于那些想要更换投票地点的民众也可前往询问。不过根据法律，选民的投票区必须根据他们身份证的地址，因此若民众想要更换投票区，他们要先更换身份证上的地址。 选委会的工作人员会在现场协助民众注册及提供各项意见，民众受促记得携带身份出席。
沈桂贤向诗巫华团领袖贺节
砂地方政府部长兼人联党主席拿督沈桂贤于22日在诗巫拜访当地华团领袖，向他们贺节。 他是趁在诗巫进行工作访问时，前往全国董总主席天猛公刘利民及诗巫华团会长江贤钦住家拜访，与众人交流。

砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤希望社警积极扮演角色，成为地方执法单位的耳目，协助打击罪案。 他说，社警的角色不仅是协助警方，同时也包括代表居民向执法单位提供反馈。 沈桂贤是于日前主持诗巫再也社区警政推展礼时，这么表示。该活动是由诗巫乡区议会举办。 他强调，促进居民与警方之间的合作，有助于降低罪案率。 他也提醒乡区议会，需致力确保地方上的民生问题获得严正关注，以为居民带来更安全与舒适的居住环境。 “居民也应该与议会密切配合，一起打造更美好的环境。”
