In sharing the spirit of the Gawai celebration, Secretary general of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party, Dato’ Sebastian Ting who is also Piasau Chairman, went with his team from Miri to go gawai visiting on the second day. Among the places they managed to cover, the group went to Pujut corner and nearby kampungs to share with the last cals the joyous occasion.

砂人联党卑尔骚区州议员兼中央秘书长拿督陈超耀律师今早与福利部官员及卑尔骚支部青年团一同到访一家穷苦家庭。 该贫户的母亲是个单亲妈妈，她共有9位孩子平均年龄2至9岁。住着一间租的房间，家里的三餐只靠8岁的孩子日夜做工一点点的工钱来维持整个家。 孩子们都没去过学校念书，福利部已经在安排帮忙她的孩子让他们得到教育。

Gawai gift for Hun Nam Siang Tng
Minister for Local government, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian presented rice and food stuff to Sarawak .Gawai in conjunction with the Gawai celebration. Dr. Sim said Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng had been contributing to the welfare of the community for decades. He commended them for their caring attitude by giving out 1,000 bags of 10kg rice monthly and looked after 50 senior citizens with compassion.
肯联会孝亲敬老晚宴
砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤于28日晚上受邀出席肯雅兰园民众联谊会的孝亲敬老晚宴。 他赞扬该会是全砂最大的民众联谊会之一，成功将原本是廉价屋地区的肯雅兰，塑造成拥有完善设施，包括学校、联谊地区、菜市集、公园及商业店的住宅区。 他说，在近几年，甚至是大型商业广场也开始在肯雅兰林立。 也是砂人联党主席的沈桂贤指出，其已故父亲丹斯里拿督阿玛沈庆鸿在担任人民代议士期间，为了方便民众前往见他，反映诉求，家里的大门在白天永远是打开着。 他指出，肯雅兰园民众联谊会也是其父亲在39年前发起成立。
