为向国油公司展示砂人捍卫砂石油天然气决心，人联党在请愿网站“change.org”设立一个名为“支持砂拉越政府捍卫和保护砂拉越石油天然气”的全民请愿活动，让砂人在该网站做出请愿。 人联党中央秘书长拿督陈超耀为请愿活动主持推展礼。在场出席的党领袖还包括，组织秘书拿督曾镇江、副财政刘会耀、石隆门支部副秘书温武胜、中央常委林才伟及砂首长署政治秘书陈开。 陈超耀表示，全砂人民对于国油公司昨日入禀联邦法院寻求砂拉越石油天然气拥有权的举动感到愤怒，想要参与请愿捍卫砂拉越权益。 他指出，拿督巴丁宜阿邦佐哈里在上任砂首长之后，就成立了砂拉越石油公司，并计划在今年7月1日正式全面管理砂拉越境内的石油天然气，然而，国油如今却入禀联邦法院，要求在1974年石油发展法令下把砂拉越石油天然气拥有权归给该公司，此举令砂拉越人民感到不满。 为了响应人民作出种种请愿的决心号召，人联党设立名为“支持砂拉越政府捍卫和保护砂拉越石油天然气”的网络请愿活动，让砂拉越人民在该网站做出请愿。 而他也希望并促请全砂拉越人民都能参与这项网络请愿活动，成为砂拉越政府的后盾，用庞大的数据展现给国油看砂拉越人民捍卫砂拉越石油天然气拥有权的决心。有关请愿网址为https://www.change.org/p/protect-sarawak-oil-gas-rights。
世界环境日推展回收计划
新欣购物广场配合世界环境日正式推展回收计划（Operation Recycle）运动，只要把空塑料瓶或铝罐投入机器，民众就能获得一张兑换券。该活动是由砂地方政府与房屋部长拿督沈桂贤主持推展。 沈桂贤表示，即使环保课题向来都是该部所关注的，但除非获得众人的支持及协助，这将是非常艰难的一项任务。 他感到欣慰，新欣购物广场与斯威本科技大学砂分校的共同配合下，推行了这项环保运动，更提高了民众对环境保护的意识。筹办单位不只透过创新的方式推介这项环保运动，更以兑换券的奖励方式来鼓励人们踊跃回收，改变整个城市对环境整洁及环保的文化。 新欣购物广场总经理拿汀林枚潓说，这也将是古晋首个“回收贩卖机（Recycle Vending Machine）”，当民众投入小于600毫升的空塑料瓶或铝罐时，该贩卖机就会打印出兑换券，而成功集合指定数目的民众，就能在购物广场内的商店使用兑换券获得折扣。 她说，本身是于去年出国旅游时发现类似的“回收贩卖机”，当下她就认为古晋需要有这样的环保概念。而非常荣幸在斯威本科技大学砂分校的配合下，他们设计并创建了古晋首台回收贩卖机。 新欣购物广场是于4月22日开始这项回收运动，而截至5月杪，配合的商店总共兑换约1000张折扣券，意指在5个星期内，该运动成功收集5280个塑料瓶及铝罐。为了继续鼓励民众参与这项环保运动，新欣购物广场将陆续推出超优惠促销。
程明智：汤米托马斯有资格担任总检察长
人联党青年团总团长程明智认为，联邦宪法明确了任命总检察长的门槛，因此汤米托马斯是有资格担任希望联盟政府的下一任联邦政府总检察长。他强调，在考虑联邦政府新总检察长候选人时，有关部门只需根据联邦宪法严格考虑候选人的资格。 他发表文告，针对希望联盟政府提出任命一位资深的宪法律师汤米托马斯为联邦政府下一任总检察长的建议，发表评论。他表示，根据“联邦宪法”第145条文明显指出，有资格被任命为总检察长的人，是有资格担任联邦法院法官的人。 他说，根据“联邦宪法”第123条文，这个人必须是公民，在被任命前的十年内，他应该是一名辩护律师和法律服务的提倡者或成员。 “宪法明确了任命总检察长的的门槛。除了上述的相关条例，没有其他要求。因此，我认为托马斯是有资格担任希望联盟政府的下一任联邦政府总检察长的合格人选。” 程明智强调，砂人联党始终坚持维护联邦宪法作为这片土地的最高法律，该党坚信联邦宪法不以任何方式歧视任何种族或宗教，反之，联邦宪法是马来西亚多种族，多宗教，多文化，民主和世俗社区的基石。

沈桂贤：人联党坚决捍卫砂权益
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤强调，人联党在第14届全国大选期间，致力呼吁人民塑造更强大的砂拉越，目的就是为了预防类似国油公司入禀联邦法院，力求宣告1974年石油发展法律在全马，包括砂拉越境内有效的事件发生。 他今日发表文告指出，人联党向来坚定认为属于砂拉越境内的所有资源，包括石油及天然气都是属于砂拉越的，而不是国油公司。这个权益阐明在1954年6月24日，由1954年委员会制定的砂拉越（修改边界）法令，同样权益也阐明在联邦宪法。 他说，1969年紧急法令颁布以来，砂拉越石油资源权力被联邦通过1966年石油开采法令、1966年大陆礁层法令和1974年石油发展法令强行剥夺。而随着紧急法令在2012年解除，1974年油发展法令未经砂拉越州议会同意通过，因此，石油和天然气的所有权将回到砂拉越。 沈桂贤指出，人联党承诺，将争取索回砂拉越石油和天然气的所有权，况且该党在2016年砂拉越选举中获得人民支持，进而成为政府的一部分，因此，该党不会在这项承诺上退缩。 “人联党绝不允许官联公司要求获得砂拉越石油资源拥有主权，以便再次将砂拉越的财富挪移至西马。” 他希望所有砂拉越人站在一起，反映对马来西亚国家石油公司这种主张的反对，全力支持砂拉越政府捍卫我们自己石油资源的权利。
