SUPP Public Complaints Bureau press statement
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau was recently approached by a car spraying and repair business operator (complainant) who was unhappy with the air pollution caused by a metal and plastic recycling factory operating at Demak Laut Industrial Park. According to the complainant, the air pollution is affecting the health of his workers and causing his workers to have breathing difficulties.
The business operator (complainant) had already lodged complaints on the air pollution caused by the metal and plastic recycling factory to Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara (DBKU) and the Department of Environment through Talikhidmat. However, till to date, no action have been taken by the relevant authorities to solve the air pollution problem caused by the metal and plastic recycling factory.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau have now raised and highlighted the air pollution matter to the Director of the Department of Environment and the Chief Minister’s office on the inaction or slow action of the Enforcement Section of the Department of Environment.
