New classroom at the Chung Hua Primary School No. 4.

Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian said the Ministry of Education would release funding to Chinese schools soon after he appealed to the Federal government about the delay in receiving the funds.

He said this during the presentation of RM50,000 cheque from SUPP to the school board of management to build a new classroom yesterday at the Chung Hua Primary School No. 4.

The RM50 million fund allocated to Chinese primary schools in the National Budget 2014 , he said, had been limited to RM20 million because part of it was used for disaster relief for the floods that hit the Peninsula’s East Coast.

Among those present was the Committee of Management of Kuching Chung Hua Primary Schools No.1 to 6 chairman Wong Tiong Hook.

He hoped that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem would allocate funds to the six Chinese primary schools, much like how he did to the Chung Hua Middle Schools.
