Dr Sim: Helping out Chinese schools
Sim Kui Hian attended a working lunch with the Chung Hua Primary School 1-6 Board on 13 August.
Dr Sim stressed that like any country with the problem of urbanisation, the existing Chinese Schools in Kuching have a crisis of too many students and not having enough classroom while those around the country side is having a different type of crisis, not having enough students (quite a few in fact has either almost the same number of students and teachers ratio!).
While there are a number of Chinese Schools in Kuching having expansion program in progress (as the Chinese Schools in Kuching is not just for Malaysian Chinese), we are also working on relocating some of the Chinese School outside Kuching to Kuching.
Dr Sim thanked the community (parents, Chinese Associations, Chinese NGOs) support, and assured them that we will be able to achieve what we set out to do if we do it together.
