SUPP Pending Youth art competition

SUPP  Pending Youth together with World Art Convention is organizing an all day event on January 4th 2015 at Kuching’s Kenyalang Commercial Center to celebrate Kenyalang’s rich history and to support the “I Love Malaysia, We Are Moderate” campaign.

Three art events will be running concurrently at Kenyalang Commercial Center on January 4th 2015.  In the morning of January 4th 2015, the artists who created Malaysia biggest 3D mural at Boulevard shopping mall will once again put their magic touches on a selected wall at Kenyalang Commercial Center. Public is cordially invited to view the completed mural and attend the opening ceremony at 4pm. All attendants at the opening ceremony will also get a chance to participate in the painting of the mural which entitled ‘I Love Malaysia’.

An art and craft exhibition will also be organized by the World Art Convention, showcasing batik, beading and handmade basket created by local artists. Artists will also demonstrate how to create the said art and craft. The public can register on-the-spot for the craft courses with minimum fee charged.

While the 3D mural and exhibition are in progress, local artists and urban sketchers are cordially invited to participate in a painting competition with the theme of ‘Forever Kenyalang’. The competition will be starting at 10am and participants are given 4 hours to create a painting with Kenyalang Park as inspiration and background. The painting can be of any medium. Participants are responsible to bring their own paper, tools and mediums. The competition is open to students or public above 18 years old. Prizes for competition consist of: RM400 & a trophy for Champion, RM300 & a trophy for 1st Runner-up, RM200 & a trophy for 2nd Runner-up plus 3 prizes of RM100 for Consolation.

Members of the public are encouraged to join the event to contribute to the community and make our home a beautiful place to stay. At the same time, it is to let our younger generation have a better understanding on the meaning of HOME.
