Reaction to Budget 2015 from Central Women Advisor
In the 2015 Fiscal Budget tabled by our Prime Minister Najib Razak, improving social welfare development and promoting woman training development are indeed encouraging policies for women nationwide.
As previously mentioned by Sarawak Chief Minister, it is important to reserve 30% job opportunities for women. However it is more important to enhance women’s education and training to improve their competitiveness.
The social welfare policy and women policy in the 2015 Fiscal Budget of our Prime Minister concur with our CM previous statement and is worthy to be recommended. With the increasing cost of living, even the educated middle class and single mothers would face difficulty in supporting their families; temporary assistant provided by the government is not sustainable.
With this, we hope the 2015 fiscal budget, with the government jobs training and re-education programs, will enable to eradicate poverty and assist single mothers to improve their living environment as well as to enhance SUPP Women’s mission of supporting the poor and the weak.
