The State Assemblyman for Kota Sentosa, Wilfred Yap, today officially witnessed the handing over the Letter of Award for a new RTP (Rural Transformation Programme) Project by Public Works Department (JKR) to Evertech Engineering, the appointed contractor through “Cabut Undi” for the Upgrading of Drainage at Jalan Kuching Ranger Depot (in front of SFC, Wisma Lestari).
The project, valued at RM250,000 from Wilfred Yap’s RTP 2024 allocation will be implemented under the supervision of the Public Works Department (JKR). JKR officers were present during the handover to ensure all technical and monitoring procedures are in place for smooth execution.
Yap said that the upgraded drainage system is crucial to addressing long-standing flash flood and water flow issues affecting the surrounding area, especially during heavy rain. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that his RTP allocations are utilised effectively for the direct benefit of residents and local road users.
“This project is one of our continuous efforts to improve basic infrastructure and ensure safer, more efficient water management for the community. I will continue working closely with JKR and the contractor to ensure timely and quality completion,” he said.
The contractor is expected to begin work immediately in accordance with the bill of quantities, scope of works and project schedule provided by JKR.
YB Wilfred Yap added that he will continue to prioritise infrastructure improvements throughout Kota Sentosa to enhance public safety, convenience, and overall quality of life for the people.
