Datuk Sebastian Ting hands over UNIFOR funding to St Columba church
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting handed over an allocation of RM200,000 to St. Columba’s Church in Miri on behalf of the Units of Other Religions in Sarawak (UNIFOR).
The funds allocated to the church was for repairing the rectory and upgrading the church’s equipment.
The church applied for an allocation of RM265,000 from other religious units in Sarawak, including repairing the priests’ quarters (RM75,000), repairing cracks in the church’s main walls (RM80,000), and repairing cracks in the walls of the multi-purpose conference room. (RM25,000), church exterior painting (RM50,000) and construction of a centenary monument (RM35,000).
