Giving is joy and love, says Lo Khere Chiang
Art Charity organisation, Art For Heart contributed RM3,500 to 19 underprivileged students in SMK Sg Tapang and RM4,281 to individuals, collection of sales from their art piece this morning.
Art for Heart organising chairperson Gerald Goh said a total of RM8,719 was raised from two donors by Ingenious Tuition Centre’s principal, Karen Sia and academic director Ng Paik San who launched their artwork and photographs a month ago at Sarawak United peoples’ party (SUPP) Batu Kitang service centre a month ago.
Goh said as the money was raised through their artworks, they were given the privilege to select their choice of who they want to donate to. The remaining RM4,281 were to be distributed to the needy community.
This morning, State assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang, witnessed the handover cheque to SMK Sg Tapang representative, Angelina Suzie by Goh. He also got a cheque from Goh to be given to needy individuals in his constituency.
Lo said despite having busy jobs, the two donors managed to draw and took photographs of their work to sell so that they can give to the needy.
He said such action should be emulated by those with talents as giving is a gift of joy and love.
Lo, who is also Padawan Municipal council Chairman, said even two of the artworks were sold to donors in Germany and Canada and they donate back the art works to them so that they can sell them off again.
Presented at the ceremony were SUPP Sentosa chief Wilfred Yap, and MPP Cr Amy Tnay and community leader, Penghulu Thian Sing Hwa.
