A football field for Kampung Tematu under Rural Transformation programme
Padawan Municipal council Chairman, Lo khere Chiang advised contractors not to totally sub out their project when they got it but instead, do it themselves.
Lo handed over RM100,000 to a contractor, Binarheka Enterprise this morning at Kampung Tematu for the construction of a football field which included a car park and drainage work, a project under the Rural Transformation programme (RTP).
He said it is understandable that there are some steel work or some labour tasks that the contractors normally sub out but it is best not to totally sub out without getting involved in the project.
Work for the football field starts on November 22 and will take three months. However, the contractor said he can complete it in a month’s time.
Lo said it is good for projects to be done fast as this will give the contractor a good image. However, he warned that they should not cut corners and do a sloppy job. ‘Get your workers and organise the work properly. It is best for the contractor to monitor the project along the process to ensure it is professionally done. In future, it will be easier for contractors with good reputation to get other projects,” he said.
