Sebastian Ting handing out fishing nets, cool boxes and life jackets to fishermen at KLIM
Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew gave out 59 coolboxes, fishing nets and life jackets to fishermen this morning at the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority, Miri(LKIM).
Ting said this is under the Bahan Input Peralatan Perikanan Nelayan where fishermen were given a helping hand during this pandemic time.
“The last two years has been challenging for all business sectors and even fishermen were not spared of the negative impact of the pandemic. But it is a blessing for us that our Sarawak government, under GPS Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johori has given out RM5.3 billion aid to help out those who are struggling due to the pandemic. He as a leader has the people’s welfare at heart,” he said.
Ting added that despite all these, life still has to continue and it is best that everyone should take care by following the SOP and getting the necessary vaccination as part of protecting oneself.
