With a number of Brought in Dead (BID) covid 19 cases, Sarawak Local government and Housing Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian called to the public not to be complacent and think they are without symtoms as things can escalate any time if they are positive even from Category 2.

He said it is important to take note and be aware when one has fever for 2 days or more, difficulty in breathing (oximeter at 95%), chest pain or discomfort , unable to tolerate orally, diarrhoea or vomiting more than 2 times a day, drowsy (oximeter at 95%) and unable to carry out daily activities.

He said even with one of the symptoms above, the covid 19 patient should be alert to contact a doctor immediately.

Dr. Sim said there were young patients with no health issues who had succumbed to the virus.

For children, parents should monitor if the child face or lips has turned blue with oximeter at 95%. If they have fever, lethargy, diarrhoea or vomiting for more than twodyas and difficulty in breathing, they should see a doctor immediately.

He said parents should not try to give medication themselves without visiting a doctor.

On another note, Dr. Sim said despite Sarawak having a high percentage of vaccination, the fight for covid 19 is not over.

With Delta variant, one should remain cautious at all times and maintain the SOP even at home.
