Private practioners help to vaccinate
For the last three weeks, five days a week, retired doctors and private practioners helped out with the vaccination program at the Batu Kawa Klinik Kesihatan. And on Monday night, from 5 pm to 9 pm, a total of 3,000 people have been vaccinated since then, said Local Government and Housing Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian.
Dr. Sim said they started off small with a couple of hundreds and scaled up to 700 at times.
He thanked the doctors from Sarawak Private Medical practitioners Society, nurses, NGOs, UNIMAS, TMC, staffs of KK Batu Kawa for this historical milestone of evening vaccination program which represents the spirit of Sarawak where everyone chip in to help.
Dr. Sim said it was an extraordinary effort for once in 100 years of pandemic crisis, private and public joining force to fight the virus. He added that the team coming together is fitting for the calling of our noble medical profession!
