Donate to St Joseph’s school, says Dr Sim
Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian is calling for urgent appeal to ex- Josephians and Sarawakian to help with RM 3 million shortfall for school’s Mill Hill Blocks (1894) restoration.
Dr. Sim who is also Minister for Local government and Housing said he handed over of the letter of appointment by Acting Chairman of School Board, Christopher Chua to contractor for the RM5.5 million Mill Hill Blocks (9 months project duration), blessed by fellow old boy, Archbishop Simon.
“Since we started fund raising in 2017, Old Josephian Association had raised more than RM2.5 million (Sarawak Government donated RM1.5 million).St Josph has given thousands of Sarawakian the most precious gift – “education” which enables Josephian to excel and thrive in all fields throughout the world. Josephian had played significant role to nation building of Sarawak in sociopoliticaleconomic with 4 out of 6 Chief Minister of Sarawak from St Joseph Kuching.
He added that it is the first time more than 100 years that the school is calling to help restore these unsafe school Mill Hill blocks (certified unsafe by JKR).
Urging all to generously donate, Dr Sim said the school provides education in the best of La Sallian spirit for our fellow Sarawakian for the next 100 years.
