SSAP helps hawkers
6025 hawker successful applicants todate for theSarawakku Sayangi Assistance Packagr (SSAP) for hawkers and petty traders, said Minister for Local government and Housing, Dato’ Sri, Dr. Sim Kui Hian.
Sim said the Chief Minister announced SSAP 2.0 on April 18 with RM1,500 per recipient (2 instalments) and SSAP 3.0 on May 11 with additional RM750 per recipient with a total of RM2,250 in total under an estimated budget of RM146 million to help mitigate the financial losses of the hawkers and petty traders during COVID 19.
SSAP is over and above Federal assistances.
So far, he added, there were 22,224 applications which are being processed including verification by local Councils.
Those who are successful applicants and those who have Sarawak Pay had the monies transferred to their accounts.
Through Sarawak Pay, 2805 successful applicants has received payment amounting to $2,103,750 before June 8.
Additional 3220 successful applicants will receive payment amounting to RM2,415,000 from June 8.
With the beginning of RMCO,Dr. Sim added that it allows others that not with Sarawak Pay to be processed, verified and successful applicants to be paid soon.
With this payment, he hoped it help to mitigate the financial losses of the hawkers and petty traders
