New rules for those arriving in Sarawak under CMCO, says Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian
A 3-days PCR swab test for COVID 19 will be imposed to those flying home and upon arrival in Sarawak there is no need 14 days quarantine in Sarawak, said Local government Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian.
Dr. Sim said due to some reasons, those who were unable to get PCR swab test before flying home will be taken to hotel upon arrival.
He said the PCR swab test will be done as soon and if the result is negative, the person can remain14 days home quarantine with a wrist band. The cost of hotel and PCR swabwill be foot by Sarawak government. (ONLY Sarawakian).
Dr. Sim reminded that if the PCR is positive, he urged them not to return back and be responsible, go to hospital immediately so you don’t spread to the others. In Sarawak, we notice that those seek treatment late, tends to have bad outcomes. We don’t want to have additional Sarawakian to the 17 deaths.
He said if Sarawak did not have cases by Sarawakian and non Sarawakian Malaysian in March 2020 (we banned Foreigners in early February), there would not have COVID 19 in Sarawak thus it is important, he added, to be cautious for the safety of all.
