Vehicle for outpatient cases
The iM Sarawak Mobile Community Clinic in the form of a mobile vehicle has been out-fitted specifically to enable medical practitioners to attend to outpatient cases.
YB Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Local Government and Housing, Sarawak, Persatuan Kebajikan Sinar Cahaya, Kuching, the Sarawak State Health Department and the Ministry of Health Malaysia initialled the idea to reach out to more outskirts patients.
1Malaysia Sarawak Advisory Council member Ir Hj Irwan Zulkarnain Hj Muhammad Hasbie handed over a brand-new, medically equipped Maxus V80 van to Persatuan Kebajikan Sinar Cahaya Kuching who said the project is in line with the objectives of iM Sarawak to improve the standare of living of Sarawakians.
He said many of them are living in the outskirts have trouble getting transport into town while others cannot afford to take time off work to visit the hospitals and clinics. As such we hope that the mobile clinic will be able to help the elderly and those with mobility problems get medical attention in a timelier and more cost-effective manner.”
Persatuan Kebajikan Sinar Cahaya is responsible for the mobile community clinic’s operations and maintenance.
