Discussion with MCA youth
The newly elected team of SUPP Youth led by its Youth Chairman Michael Tiang has recently made a courtesy visit to MCA Youth in KL on 8 January, and was warmly welcomed by its Youth Chairman YB Senator Datuk Chong Sin Woon, who is also the Deputy Minister of Education.
During the visit, a two hours dialogue session was held among the two BN Youths leaders.
Among the topics of discussion shared between the youth leaders were on People’s issues – such as the current strength of our nation’s economy including GDP, foreign investments, ringgit currency, DFTZ (digital free trade zone), job opportunities for the youth, youth entrepreneurship and other policies affecting the youth, education and its related issues, Sarawak autonomous rights under the Federal Constitution and Malaysia Agreement 1963, Sarawak as the founding partner in the formation of the Federation of Malaysia rather than one of the 13 states in Malaysia, the unconstitutional erosion of Sarawakians’ rights through several Acts of Parliament such as the Petroleum Act 1974 and the Sea Territorial Act 2012, SUPP Youth’s determined stance in fighting and getting back what’s originally belonging to Sarawak.
Also brought into the discussion was the legacy of the late Tok Nan’s spirit, the new and bold policies under the leadership of CM Abang Jo – such as the establishment of DBOS and PETROS, the drive towards digital economy, Sarawak Pay and e-commerce platform, high speed and wide internet coverage throughout Sarawak and the proposal of LRT, the preparation for GE14 and mutual corroboration.
Apart from the Youth Chairman, Datuk Leong Kim Soon appearing as MCA Youth Secretary- General, Nicole Wong and Tan Kok Eng both as MCA Youth Vice Chairman, Tee Hooi Ling as MCA Youth Deputy Sec-Gen and Chan Wun Hoong as committee member attended the dialogue for MCA Youth.
Milton Foo as SUPP Youth Secretary General, Andrew Victor and Alex Chu both as SUPP Youth Deputy Chairman, Andrew Wong as Youth Treasurer, Tang Kieh Ming and Goh Tze Hui both as Youth Vice Chairman, Tang Siong Chun as Youth Deputy Sec-Gen, Shim Poh Szu as Youth Training Secretary and Alvin Chong as Youth Assistant Publicity represented for SUPP Youth.
