Bau District Council celebrates its 60th anniversary
Next weekend will be the 60th anniversary of Bau District’s Council and a celebration from Sept 22 to 24 which included an earth-breaking ceremony for the new Bau District Office complex and the Tasik Biru Carnival.
Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian said the celebrations would see more than 30 activities, focusing on sports, education, entrepreneurship and community building, he told a press conference at his office here yesterday.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate at the earth-breaking ceremony slated for Sept 23.
The construction of the new office complex is expected to start in 2018 and set for completion in 2020.
