Question on shortage of rabies vaccine to be queried
Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian says he had questioned Putra Jaya on the shortage of vaccine for victims when rabies was detected in Serian.
Speaking at the Kota Padawan community hall during the mass vaccination for dogs yesterday, Dr. Sim said he has already queried Putrajaya when he was told there was no vaccine available and he would bring it up in the coming parliamentary sitting if the respond is not satisfactory.
So far, four children had died from the disease and an adult male is in serious condition in the intensive care unit in sarawak general hospita.
Dr Sim, who is the watching brief for public health issues, advised members of the public to seek immediate help if they were bitten by dogs.
