Miri waterfront project
Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting said the RM 3. 7 million waterfront project which will be completed by April 14 next year is part of the RM10 million worth of community and tourism projects granted by the late chief minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem to the Miri City Council (MCC) during the 10th anniversary celebration of Miri City in 2015.
Ting said the special fund was given by the late Tok Nan (Adenan) and it will take about 10 months to be completed. He said this when he conducted a site visit yesterday.
He added that the project’s four-storey high seahorse statue which will be made from standard steel, will become an icon and new landmark for the area as well as the city..
Five other community and tourism projects have been approved under the RM10 million grant.
The projects are the Green Community Hub, Miri Waterfront and jetty, upgrading of Miri Handicraft Centre, construction of a waterfront at Kampung Pengkalan Lutong, tourism forum, and MCC’s Apps and Information Communication Technology (ICT).
