Wee: SUPP and UPP should join forces for betterment of Chinese community.
President of the Federation of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Divisions Chinese Associations. Dato Richard Wee has urged leaders of both Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) and United People’s Party (UPP) to set aside personal agenda and join forces for the betterment of the Chinese community.
He said this at the federation annual general meeting 2017 held at its premises at pending that the Chinese-based political parties should place the overall interest of the Chinese community above their differences to ensure that the community can be strongly represented in the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.
Wee said the Chief Minister had on numerous occasions called upon both SUPP and UPP to be united as one so that the Chinese community can be a representative in the government.
He said the federation, on its part, had acted as the bridge between the government and the community to help the people solve their problems and is apolitical.
