Candidate for Pujut by election should be from Barisan
SUPP president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian said that only a BN component party member can stand under the BN ticket in the Pujut by-election and the BN direct candidate has passed its usage.
Pujut constituency was a seat contested by SUPP, a party under Barisan Nasional (BN) and whoever wants to contest the Pujut seat must resign from their party and join SUPP. Thereafter, we will only consider (them),” he said.
Dr Sim was was in Miri to attend the Miri-Sibuti Parliamentary Liaison Committee meeting, which was also attended by SUPP leaders there which included, Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting , Datuk Lee Khim Shim as well as other representatives from the party’s Senadin, Piasau, Lambir, Pujut and Bekenu branches to discuss the upcoming 14th general election (GE14).
He said SUPP was always ready to face any challenges, including this by-election and had a list of candidates ready.
