SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) was recently approached by residents at Jalan Luis, next to ongoing Gala City Development and Premier 101 commercial area, who requested for assistance to address their predicament of flash flooding during heavy rain which was causing them anxiety and great inconvenience.

Following the requests for assistance received, Wilfred Yap together with Kapitan Wong Ka Chuan had gone to inspect and assess the situation to see what can be done to resolve the problems raised by them. Subsequent to the visit, a meeting was arranged by Tan Kai, between Drainage & Irrigation Department and Kuching South City Council.

Arrangements were also immediately made with Kuching District Office and Malaysian Civil Defence Department to apply for financial assistance (Wang Ehsan) for the affected residents.

A meeting was also arranged between the affected residents with the Developer of Gala City and SUPP Public Complaints Bureau would like to thank Mr Lee Chin Teck of Gala City Development for meeting up with the affected residents and for taking steps to mitigate the flash flood problem affecting the residents by immediately construction a small diversion culvert to speed up waterflow and prevent overflowing.
