Solving sink hole problem on main road leading into BDC Resettlement scheme

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap who is also the SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch Secretary was recently approached by residents living in BDC Resettlement Scheme who complained of a sink hole on the main road leading into BDC Resettlement Scheme last Saturday.

Yap then contacted the relevant authorities to cover up the sink-hole immediately to prevent any untoward incident.

On Sunday night, the sink hole reappeared and was covered up again to prevent further damages or accident.

MBKS Engineering Section went to study the matter on Monday morning and discovered that the sink hole was caused by an abandoned culvert some six (6) feet under the main road which caused a water way resulting in underground erosion causing the sink hole.

“Remedial construction works involving extensive excavation and back filling works was carried out to solve the problem on Tuesday,” said Yap.
