沈桂贤拨款提升民立中学设施
砂政府除了常年拨款给独中及承认统考，现在又协助独中硬体建设。 砂副总理兼石角区议员拿督阿玛沈桂贤通过其乡村转型发展计划，为石角民立中学兴建一栋雨盖篮球场，方便及为该校师生提供一个更好的体育场所。 石角民立中学新篮球场建成后，属於露天球场，这种情况引起沈桂贤的关注，特别是在炎热气候期间，不能为学生提供一个阴凉的体育场所，因此他决定为该校策划兴建一栋雨盖球场。 随着他将此发展计划列入其乡村转型发展计划之一，工程获得当局批准，并由巴达旺市议会负责执行。 巴达旺市议会已在昨日将工程合约移交给承包商，即SYARIKAT ARUS MEKAR，此工程斥资35万2300令吉，工程从今年4月4日到9月3日，为期5个月。换句话，石角民立中学师生将在年底享有免受日晒雨淋的雨盖篮球场。 石角民立中学属於全砂14所独中之一，也是石角选区唯一的一所独中，自从砂政府给予砂独中常年拨款后，已减轻或支援董事会的办学经费，民中也从这项拨款中受惠。 此外，已启用的新教学楼，砂政府也拨款50万作为建设经费。 拿督阿玛沈桂贤非常重视独中教育发展，除了经常参与和出席该独中活动，每年也拨款作为提升教师福利。
