Going down to the ground
Minister for Local government and Housing, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian with Padawan Municipal council Secretary and Engineer went down to the ground to estimate the cost of upgrading the drains and pedestrian bridge to be implemented in Batu Kawa. Dr. Sim said more infrastructure will be constructed fir the benefits of Batu Kawah residents.
沈桂贤宣布提升石角排水系统
石角区议员拿督斯里沈桂贤宣布，将提升石角路戈迪帝路口(Jalan ketitir)的排水系统及兴建德莎威拉人形道的一座桥梁。 他与巴达旺市议会副秘书吴忝曷巡视上述地点后，要求市议会近期内对这两项工程进行价格评估和设计，以方便采取下一步行动。 他表示，戈迪帝路口现有是泥土沟渠，而且无论是深度或宽度，都不能应付日益增加的排水量，导致往往出现严重积水影响交通系统问题。 沈桂贤说，这条沟渠需要提升至更大更宽的洋灰沟渠，我们需要巴达旺市议会尽快对工程的费用和设计进行策划，方便为兴建做好准备。 至于德莎威拉第一巷路口人行道桥梁，虽然目前已有人行道，但缺乏一座横跨大沟渠的桥梁，导致民众步行到附近市场时，仍需沿着车水马龙的道路步行。 他指出，石角民众服务中心已接获民众的要求，以便兴建一座横跨大沟渠的桥梁，如此民众就可以安全沿着人行道走去市场。 沈桂贤认为这是非常重要的设施，市议会会尽快对工程进行价格评估和设计出来，确保工程能尽快落实，方便和维护当地民众。
SMK St Joseph undergo extensive restoration
The Mill Hill Block at SMK St. Joseph, Kuching will undergo an extensive restoration over a period of 7½ months to restore the buildings to its former glory.
