The candidate for Miri, Datuk Sebastian Ting, is doing his daily walkabout to meet the voters . Ting a state assemblyman for Miri, who is doing his morning walk at Old man street, said his plan is to meet voters face to face to hear their problems . In the coming election, he will face Dr Michael Teo again who won the last parliamentary election by a minor majority.
Education fair to give more opportunities for school leavers.
Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting said an educational fair, Jelajah pendidikan 2018 program will be held at Miri Indoor Stadium this May 1, from 10am to 4pm to give more opportunities for school leavers. The fair, under the Jelajah Pendidikan program, kicked off recently in Stampin, Kuching before heading to Petra Jaya, Kuching the following day and concluding in Miri on Labour Day. 沈桂贤呼吁五哩八港居民支持国阵
砂人联党实旦宾区候选人拿督沈桂贤呼吁五哩八港路甘榜居民支持国阵，以确保当地持续获得发展。 他表示，过去5年来，行动党实旦宾区人民代议士并没有为地区带来实际贡献。当地的礼堂和基础设施建设，全都是巴都吉当区州议员罗克强所争取。 “所有都是罗克强为你们而争取，而行动党完全无法做到什么，因此，你们应该支持国阵。” 沈桂贤日前在五哩八港路甘榜礼堂举行团结与和谐活动上致词时，强调一旦其在这次国会选举中选，实旦宾将有两架引擎，大力促进发展。他希望实旦宾居民可以看到，过去5年来在没有国阵人民代议士的帮助下，当地的发展可谓停滞不前。
全民教育之旅活动开幕礼
砂人联党实旦宾区候选人沈桂贤日前为石角新市镇举行的全民教育之旅（Jelajah Pendidikan）活动主持开幕礼。 他在致词时强调，只要有机会，无论如何都要去进修汲取更好知识，因为教育可以改变人的一生，除了为自己与家庭带来优质生活外，也可以让国家迈向繁荣发展。 他表示，此次教育之旅主办单位过去主要开放予土著学子参与，但在首长拿督巴丁宜阿邦佐哈里引荐下，该单位今次特为了砂拉越开放予各族群参与，包括华裔学子。这凸显出砂拉越贯彻一马精神。 “砂政府非常重视本地学子的教育发展，确保砂子民皆能享有更高教育。尤其是砂政府透过该渠道协助毕业生进入大学就读，毕业生仅需在携带身分证和成绩单即可在会场进行处理，若符合资格立即便可获得录取信。” 沈桂贤分享时也表示自己相当庆幸，因为其先父让他享有教育机会，而不是钱财和房地产罢了，让他有机会在澳洲深造，并在学成归来后成为心脏专科。 他相信，首次移师砂拉越举行的砂教育之旅活动，不但能为毕业生带来改变人生的机会，同时也为家庭、国家及砂拉越带来改变。 出席者包括人联党巴都吉当区州议员罗克强及土著教育之旅委员会主席丹斯里沙洪哈密。
全民教育之旅美里站5月1日举行
2018年全民教育之旅教育展将在5月1日上午10时至下午4时在美里室内体育馆举办，届时将由美里国会候选人拿督陈超耀主持开幕礼，并由砂首长拿督巴丁宜阿邦佐哈里主持闭幕。 原本只开放予友族同胞的“全民教育之旅”(前身为土著教育之旅)计划,，经过砂州国阵政府首席部长和沈桂贤的努力争取，如今正式开放供砂州华裔毕业生提出申请，机会难得，当场录取的学生，除了可直接进入梦想的学府之外，还可获得入学津贴。 陈超耀表示，凡于2013年至2017年期间，具备大马教育文凭(SPM)、大马高级教育文凭（STPM）及独中毕业生就拥有申请资格。他说，拥有大马教育文凭及大马高级教育文凭成绩但至今仍无法或还未获得高等教育机构录取入学的学生。 他续说，此外，有关当局也将给予每个家庭贫困的学生申请1千500令吉援助金，以协助解决他们的教育经费。 “全民教育之旅”教育展 (Jelajah Pendidikan 2018)由国家之子基金会(Yayasan Destin.
