狂犬病讲座会各地举行

为了让民众更了解狂犬病,砂兽医服务局及卫生局于周六晚上开始,在各地区举办狂犬病醒觉讲座会。 周六(29日)晚上的讲座会,分别是在石角中华公会礼堂、达闽再也TJ Delight饮食坊及马当再也清真寺举行。讲座会的主讲者是来自砂兽医服务局及卫生局。 砂人联党也积极协助安排各项讲座会。 在讲座会上,出席者可以了解狂犬病的感染原因,以及如何防范。


Charity Sale for the St Basil’s Church

Free vaccine for pets

Free vaccine were given to pets at the Arang Road Basketball Court yesterday. A total of 2,667 dogs were vaccinated in a rabies vaccination exercise for pets. This brings the total number of animals vaccinated in the state to 13,969 dogs, 7,595 cats and 45 other animals. Assistance for fire victims of Rh labang Bintangor

Political secretary to the CM,  Teng Ung Woo, gave thanks for the immediate action and assistance from YB Datuk Kuong Hiing Ding , government agencies, churches, individuals for helping the 35 doors longhouse fire victims near Sg Tulai , Rh labang Bintangor. A shelter and a place to stay is their priority now,  but  other relevant assistance is still very much needed.


Rabies Awareness & Prevention talk

A  Rabies Awareness & Prevention talk was held at the Tabuan Jaya TJ Delight Coffee Shop, Batu Kawa Chamber of Commerce and Matang Jaya Mosque yesterday and Saturday. The talk was organised by Ministry of Health department and State Veterinary department. The talks was to educate the people on prevention and what to do in case of dog bites and to give the public  an idea of what rabies is all about. SUPP co-ordinated and helped to inform the kampung folks on the venue and time of talk.


沈桂贤巡视狂犬病疫苗注射活动

砂地方政府及房屋部长拿督沈桂贤于昨日巡视煤炭路美华花园篮球场举行的免费注射狂犬病疫苗活动。 他赞扬砂兽医服务局在来自全国和沙巴兽医服务局的支持下,为本地的狗只注射狂犬病疫苗。 这项活动也获得巴达旺市议会、人联党哥打圣淘沙支部及志愿者的帮助。 共有2667只狗在这项活动中接受狂犬病疫苗注射。 截至目前为止,已经注射狂犬病疫苗的狗为1万3969只,另外还有7595只猫及45只其他动物。


沈桂贤:狂犬病谣言导致人心惶惶

砂地方政府及房屋部长拿督沈桂贤感到遗憾,在狂犬病爆发以来,让人看到可怕的不是疫情本身,而是满天飞的谣言。 他说,社交媒体充斥着大量不实消息,在未经证实的情况下被转发和广泛流传,闹得人心惶惶,这种不负责任的行为,远比狂犬病来的可怕。 他出席由马来西亚新闻局砂拉越分局举办的“我的国家”州级讲故事比赛后,这么表示。 沈桂贤强调,当局在应对狂犬病疫情课题上,必须保持透明化,并在紧急时刻,对外发布疫情的最新消息。 他指出,砂灾难管理委员会每日下午5时都会发布正式的狂犬病疫情进展,不过,若接到最新的疫情报告,比如新增疫区,该委员会就会立刻对外发布,以提高人民的警惕。 为了避免人们感到恐慌,沈桂贤表示,有关当局已积极展开宣导狂犬病知识与防范措施的醒觉运动,并希望非政府组织能与相关当局携手合作,同应对抗疫情。 “在应付防范狂犬病疫情方面,我们应该听取各个岗位专业人士的意见和信息,而非道听途说。” 较早时,也是石角区州议员的拿督沈桂贤在致词中表示,科技与社交网络为民众提供了便利性和快捷性,但无奈却遭到滥用,有心人士蓄意传播各种负面及不实的消息,尤其是目前的狂犬病疫情,许多未经证实的讯息也在社交网络上被放大、广传,闹得人心惶惶。 他说,不久前,砂拉越灾难管理委员会官员已就此事向警方报案,以制止人们流传和散播有关狂犬病不实的讯息,警方也高度关注此事,并将对造谣者采取行动。
