沈桂贤促请州民维护各族和谐
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员促请州民维护本州各族友好和谐的文化，避免如镜子那样一旦被击破了，将可引发伤害到人民的冲突。 他指出，砂拉越的和谐是优良传统与文化，并且已成为我国在团结的楷模，必须是坚守到底，勿让西马的不良文化与歪风的侵入破坏。 “我们砂拉越人民应该感到庆幸，因为各族不分彼此、和谐融洽、互相配合和尊重，不像西马，一个小小课题就被种族化或以种族的眼光看待。” 这是他日前应邀出席古晋新桃义慈善社配合庆祝成立61周年纪念及陈大伯寿辰及扩建社所舞台所举办的好歌手慈善杯挑战赛晚宴上致词时，这么表示。 他说，日前在西马吉隆坡刘蝶广场发生的事件就是一个警示，希望人们要审视及检讨。 与此同时，沈桂贤表示，很庆幸的砂州拥有一个敢讲话的首席部长，多次在西马领袖面前强调，砂州没有种族和宗教的问题，因此，砂州人民一定要给予首长的领导支持。
