沈桂贤：砂人民尊敬彼此宗教
砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤提醒砂拉越人民，必须以宗教来达致团结，而不是以宗教来分裂。 他举例，就如波斯尼亚等国家，经过很久才结合，却因宗教一战而破裂，因此以宗教来分裂是很有可能。 沈桂贤是出席马佛总砂分会举办丁酉年新春大团拜活动，在致辞时呼吁砂拉越人要一起配合，大家互相尊敬所有的宗教，必须团结一致。 “就如幸福的家庭，需要夫妻俩一起团结才会幸福美好。” 沈桂贤指出，新任砂首长拿督阿玛阿邦佐将会延续阿德南的政策，成立一个以副首长道格拉斯为领导的非回教部门，让所有宗教有直接联系的政府部门，专门处理宗教事宜的部门。 “该部门有20余名官员才被委任，这将会照顾其他宗教，包括处理申请拨款及土地的问题。” 沈桂贤也提及昨日在西马伊斯兰党发起的紫色“355法令集会”，惟已故砂首长阿德南和现任首长阿邦佐已多次表态，砂拉越绝不会落实伊刑法，这个必须获得大家的重视，以及每个人一起来配合。 他欣慰看到砂拉越佛教会幼儿园于今早所呈现的舞蹈，不仅有华裔小孩子，也有友族的小孩子，这要归功于拿督郑正金和幼儿园的老师们，有很好的眼光，从小就灌输小孩们要团结的教育。 此外，沈桂贤也觉得砂拉越很幸运，因为各族同胞能互相庆祝佳节，华族新年能吃到加喱，而达雅节则能吃到卡章玛鸡，这就是砂拉越很融合，证明宗教能团结砂拉越人。

沈桂贤出席童军活动
砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤表示，大马童军人数共有80万人，表示每30人之中有1人是童军。 他称，童军是砂拉越的未来栋梁，童军是纪律团队，同时，也是迈向国际的联系网。 他表示，童军创始人贝登堡也是因为梦想才创办了童军，因此他呼吁童军们应该放眼世界视野，追逐梦想。 沈桂贤是出席全砂第一届童军和平使者(messenger of peace)及创办人罗伯森贝登堡日活动，受邀致词时，这么表示。 “童军创始人的和平讯息极其重要，尤其是在建设社区和平，环境和平及个人和平方面。” 沈桂贤称，砂首长承诺将继续维持和平，这么一来才能打造更和谐的环境。 此外，他认为，童军团体所培养的自救技巧，也可以为砂拉越或全国提供自愿援助工作，为社会贡献更多。 据悉，全砂第一届童军和平使者(messenger of peace)及创办人罗伯森贝登堡日活动共有1800人参与，分别来自30所学校。沈桂贤也宣布拨款2万令吉以示支持这项活动。
砂人联党领袖恭贺查米拉胜选
国阵候选人潘斯里拿督阿玛查米拉在丹绒拿督补选三角战中取胜，以6443张多数票当选为州议员。 查米拉得票6573张，以超越其先夫拿督巴丁宜阿迪南沙登上届得票和胜出多数票的压倒性优势，横扫两名反对党对手。砂革新党佐尼阿柏，以及砂新达雅党拉柏森，分别仅是得票108张和130张，双双失去按柜金溃败。 国阵查米拉获92.2%票数，废票为80张。此次补选投票率是69.2%，较选委会放眼的75%目标低约6%。去年州选投票率则是70.1%。 选举官韩先阿达于18日晚上7时50分在伦乐民众会堂宣布补选成绩。 查米拉在山都望私邸等待成绩，其儿子阿兹祖则代表其在伦乐民众会堂。 选区原任议员阿迪南沙登于今年1月11日，因心脏病在哥打三马拉汉砂州心脏中心逝世，因此丹绒拿督州议席需进行补选。 砂人联党领袖于18日晚上聚集在查米拉住家，向她献上祝贺。 在场分别是党主席拿督沈桂贤、秘书长拿督陈超耀律师、财政拿督陈冠勋和芦勃区州议员拿督斯里范长锡。
Chinese New Year visit to Simmanggang and Lingga

沈桂贤：各族必须持续加强团结

过去两天连绵大雨，导致州内多地方，包括石角多个低洼地区发生水灾。目前石角区面对较严重水灾的地区是甘榜欣纳布迪拉玛，甘榜双溪登雅，甘榜兰道班让（上湾头），有多条道路也因水患而中断，或影响小型车辆的川行。 砂拉越人民联合党拿督沈桂贤服务团队已在第一时间前往受水灾影响到地区，并给予有关灾黎必要协助。 沈桂贤也指示服务团队提供饮水与食物给他们，以便渡过难关。各政府相关单位也前往受水灾影响地区，准备必要协助包括疏散灾黎。 沈桂贤之前提供给三个甘榜的船只，也派上用场，作为运送食物等用途。

Local Minister, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian send food stuff and assisted the flood victims at Kpg Tengah Sungai. He thanked his team, JPAM, Bomba, Army, Welfare, DO, NGO and other agencies as well as YBDA Douglas Ungah (Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak & Minister In Charge of Disaster Relief) for the tremendous effort in assisting the victims. He hoped that the flood would subsided and the evacuees would be able to return home soon.

Dato’ Sebastian Ting, Piasau State Assemblyman, together with City Council engineers and Councillors visited the SJK Chung Hua Lutong and the Lutong area on the RTP projects on the upgrading of the drainage system. Assistance for urgent processing of SOCSO claims
The SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) was recently approached by a woman residing at BDC Resettlement Scheme, Kuching seeking for assistance to find out the status of her application for financial assistance in the form of invalidity pension from SOCSO (Social Security Organisation). The woman concerned is suffering from blindness caused by her sickness and is unable to continue working. SUPP PCB have now highlighted and brought the matter up to the attention of SOCSO to urgently/promptly process and approve the application.
