KUCHING – Sarawakians who are the Head of Households and are listed as beneficiaries of Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) in January 2020 who have been approved by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) are those who are automatically eligible for Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS).

BKSS recipients with bank accounts will receive their monthly cash assistance of RM250 for six (6) months from 15 April 2020 to 15 September 2020 credited into their bank accounts. The payment schedule is as follows:

Sarawak Government has fulfilled its promise and commitment by making BKSS first payment starting 15 April 2020 to eligible recipients.

For those who do not have a bank account registered with the LHDN, cash payments can be claimed from any of the nearest Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches by providing their identity card and payment will be paid in two phases:

a) Phase One (RM750): after 17 April 2020; and 

b) Phase Two (RM750): after 17 July 2020.

Those who meet the criteria but are not listed as BKSS recipients may file for appeal. The BKSS eligibility criteria are as follows:

• Sarawakians who are Heads of Households (husband or wife) of the B40 group whose household income is less than RM4,000 a month; or
• Single (age 40 to 59 / disabled 18 to 59) with income of less than RM2,000 per month

Appeal must be made by filling in the Borang Permohonan Rayuan Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang which can be downloaded from the website https://www.sarawak.gov.my/bkssrayuan and submitted to the District Office nearest to their addresses.

Appeal applications can also be submitted online at https://www.sarawak.gov.my/bkssrayuan. Applicants are encouraged to appeal online during this Movement Control Order (MCO) to reduce the public movement.

The appeal period is from 18 to 28 April 2020. The appeal result can be reviewed after 15 June 2020 from the website https://www.sarawak.gov.my/bkssrayuan

RM1,500 BKSS SPECIAL GRANT FOR ELIGIBLE SARAWAKIANS

KUCHING – A special BKSS Grant of RM1,500 per entrepreneur will be provided to each hawker and petty trader registered with Sarawak Local Authorities.

For those who do not have a license / permit, they are advised to register with the local authority stating the purpose of obtaining the special aid by filling in the form either manually or online.

Manual forms can be obtained from the nearest local authority’s service counter and registration is open until May 31, 2020. Consideration will be based on the criteria set by the Local Authority.

The grant will be paid out to the respective qualified entrepreneurs’ through Sarawak Pay account in two tranches:

1. Phase One (RM750): from April / May 2020
2. Phase Two (RM750): from June / July 2020

Payment is made through the following methods:

1. Method 1

• If you have a verified business license and Sarawak Pay account before April 15, 2020, payments will be credited into your Sarawak Pay account starting April 23, 2020;

• If you have a business license but do not have a Sarawak Pay account for acceptable reasons, cash payments can be claimed from any nearby Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch by providing identity card and business license from May 2020; 

1. Method 2

• If you have a verified business license and Sarawak Pay account before May 31, 2020, the payment will be credited into the Sarawak Pay account beginning June 2020;

• If you have a business license but do not have a Sarawak Pay account for acceptable reasons, cash payments can be claimed from any nearby Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch by providing identity card and business license from June 2020.

The Sarawak Pay app can be downloaded into your smart phone through Google Play Store or Apple Store.
