DATUK PATINGGI TAN SRI DR. WONG SOON KAI on the Twinswood Sdn Bhd
29 May 2014
To: Directors and Shareholders of Twinswood Sdn Bhd, 6F-G, Kampong Datu, 96000 Sibu
With reference to the recent events surrounding Twinswood Sdn. Bhd and SUPP’s accessibility and rights to the usage of the three shophouses along Jalan Kampong Datu, Sibu. I would like to remind all directors and shareholders of the following facts relating to the objective of the formation of Twinswood Sdn. Bhd, and its TRUST relationship with the SUPP Sibu Branch.
(1) The company was incorporated in 1987 with the aim of providing a place for the SUPP Sibu Branch and to manage the said property on behalf of the SUPP Sibu branch.
(2) The said property was acquired in 1987 when I was the chairman of the SUPP Sibu Branch, and the cost of the acquisition of the three units of shop-houses was about MYR $1 million at the time. The entire cost was paid with the party fund through the generous donation from party members and supporters of SUPP.
(3) The fifty members of the Twinswood Sdn. Bhd, were chosen from among the leading party members by the then SUPP Sibu branch. None of them had specifically paid for their shares in this company.
(4) Recently, some members of the company had indicated intention to resign from SUPP. As an moral obligation, I think they should not challenge the rights of the SUPP Sibu branch to use and manage the said property, which had been under the SUPP Sibu branch since 1987.
(5) For the above reasons, I would urge the Board of Directors and shareholders of Twinswood Sdn. Bhd to consider allowing the unhindered usage of the three shop-houses to the SUPP Sibu branch until the end of the title leasehold.
Please continue to work together in unity for SUPP and people of Sibu.
Thank you
Yours sincerely,
DATUK PATINGGI TAN SRI DR. WONG SOON KAI
