Dato’ Sebastian Trail challenge Cup 2014
Healthy sports activities should be promoted among the people regardless of age as having a healthy lifestyle would ensure them a good life ahead, said SUPP Secretary general, Dato’ Sebastian Ting.
A healthy lifestyle helps reduce stress, diseases and enables one to have a more positive outlook in life, he reasoned.
Talking to over 400 runners from young to old yesterday at the Canada Hill for a fun run, the winner would walk home with the “Dato’ Sebastian Trail challenge Cup 2014,” an annual event which started last year. The run was organised by Bulatan Park Runners club.
Ting said last year, there were about 300 over runners and this year, there was a hundred over more. “Next year, we hope to see maybe 500 or 1,000” he said.
The event also attracted a number of families which came out in full force to join in the run. He urged participants to try walking or running at least a few times per week or least during the weekend to stay healthy and to make full use of the place.
He also hoped that the Government would keep the Canada Hill, which is located near the town center, be maintained for the use of the public. “This is where the people come to go up the hills daily for their exercise and especially popular at weekends. The people had humbly requested that the government considered gazetting the place for them to preserve and promote a green environment,” he added.
