Dr Sim: SUPP a new united team
SUPP President Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said it will be a tough road ahead for the 55 year old party but it will be a united one.
Speaking to reporters in his maiden press conference flanked by new Secretary General, Dato’ Sebastian Ting from Miri, Sim believed that with unity in the party and the new Central Working Committee line up which was represented from all branches throughout Sarawak, the united team consisting of 10 new faces will work out a transformation plan with a new image.
“Enough is enough. We need to transform for the better for the people, for the party and we will walk the talk. We have a comfortable representatives of Dayaks in the line-up and we will be there for the people, regardless of race or religion,” he said.
The immediate plan for the party was to set up a Public Service complain bureau, a political school and a think-tank group.
Sim said the team was chosen with general consensus, without any misunderstanding, quarreling or bickering. It started off well, he said, and they will now move ahead to work towards their goals to get the support from the ground.
Earlier at the TDC, Ting announced that the retired branch chairman, Datuk David Teng, Datuk Alfred Yap, Andy Chia and President Tan Sri Peter Chin were made Honourary Advisors.
