Recreational Park at Stampin upgraded
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap handed over the Letter of Award under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) to the appointed contractor, Syarikat Ayu Cekal, for the upgrading of the recreational park at Lorong 2, Stampin Resettlement Scheme.
A RM100,000 project which included the construction of a pickleball court, installation of adult fitness equipment such as a walker and twister station, as well as the placement of concrete benches for public use. A 5.5-metre three-tier reinforced concrete grandstand will also be built at the futsal court, which was completed last year with RTP funding.
Yap said the initiative demonstrates his commitment to providing residents with modern and inclusive recreational facilities that promote healthy lifestyles and community bonding.
“Facilities like pickleball courts, fitness stations, and comfortable seating areas are part of our effort to create more holistic community parks where people of all ages can benefit. With the new grandstand, residents will also enjoy a more comfortable viewing experience during futsal matches and community events,” he said.
He added that he will continue working with local authorities and the community to identify needs and channel resources to improve living standards in Kota Sentosa.
The project is part of the Sarawak government’s ongoing efforts to ensure development funds are effectively used to uplift the quality of life for the people.
