Datuk Sebastian Ting allocates funding for streetlights in Kpg Serai
Piasau State Assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting allocates RM100,000 for streetlights in Kampung Sirai.
Ting who is also Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism allocated RM100,000 through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) to install 18 streetlights in Kampung Sirai, benefiting 62 families.
During his visit to inspect the project’s progress, Ting stated that the installation work began on January 6 and is expected to be completed by May 5 this year.
He explained that after receiving the villagers’ request, he applied for RTP funding in 2023, which was later approved to cover the cost of the streetlight installation.
Ting noted that Kampung Sirai already has access to water and electricity, and with the new streetlights, the village will benefit from improved living conditions and enhanced road safety.
The Kampung also hoped to have funding for the construction of a multipurpose hall for community events which Ting said he will try to assist there.
He stated that the government is committed to local development and infrastructure improvements to enhance the quality of life for the people.
