Kota Sentosa Assemblyman Wilfred Yap witnessed the official handing over of letter of award and site to the successful contractor, Spring Rain Contruction for his Sarawak Government Rural Transformation Project (RTP) funded project for 2023 totalling RM100,000 by Kuching City South Council for Masjid Darul Barakah, Tan Satria Jaya, BDC.
He said the RTP sum of RM100,000 is for the general repairs and upgrading works of Masjid Darul Al-Barakah BDC which is situated within the state constituency of N12 Kota Sentosa.
“The repairs and upgrading works for the project covers main office, meeting room, ablution area, toilets and changing room. The works will be supervised by Kuching City South Council as the appointed implementing agency and the project is scheduled for completion by 19th August 2024, ” he explained.
Yap added that the management committee of the Mosque had earlier requested YB Wilfred Yap for financial assistance for the general repairs and upgrading works.
YB Wilfred Yap is committed to use his annual RTP allocation systematically based on urgency and priority to ensure the facilities of all religious bodies (muslim and non-muslim) in his constituency of N12 Kota Sentosa are up to standard and satisfactory.
During the simple handing over ceremony for the project, YB Wilfred Yap requested the appointed implementing agency (Kuching City South City Council) to closely monitor and supervise the repair and upgrading works to ensure that they are completed on schedule and with quality finishing to ensure the benefits from the repairs and upgrading works of the Mosque can be delivered on time for the benefit of all those who attend prayers at the mosque.
At the same time, YB Wilfred Yap said that the inclusive policy implemented by the leadership of Sarawak Premier YAB Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has brought political stability and prosperity to Sarawak. This aspiration to become a developed and high income region is not hollow confidence because Sarawak’s economic fundamentals are strong and its policies are structured and realigned with new sustainable green initiatives and goals to meet the challenges of the future.
