Voting in frogs can get you betrayed, says Sih Hua Tong
GPS/SUPP candidate for Batu Lintang, Sih Hua Tong said loudly that he will never be a frog (a term used for those who jumped to another party after being voted in) or betrayed his party and voters should he be voted in.
When asked about an opponent of his who had jumped to another party, Hua Tong said being a political frog is not only a betrayer to his original party but especially to his voters who had voted him in.
“There is no such thing as an intelligent frog or a handsome frog. A frog is a frog. Many people are frustrated that someone they voted under a certain party suddenly ‘switched’ to another party for greener pastures. And the frog’s intention is mainly to betterment himself and not his voters,” he said.
Hua Tong cited an opponent of his who jumped to PKR and now, PSB. He said the frog has failed his voters. He even lied as to why he jumped saying he was sacked by his party. “But the truth was that after he jumped, he was sacked. I am not surprised that a frog will lie to get his way. If he has jumped and can give all his voters huge monetary gain, by all means jump but do not use excuses on why you jumped when it is definitely for yourself,” he added.
Urging the voters to be cautious against a person who is not loyal to his party or people, Hua Tong said when a candidate stood under a certain party with his manifesto, it is not something that should be easily chucked aside to gain his selfish needs. To me, he added, that is an act of betrayal and immaturity.
Hua Tong said he was baffled as to how the same candidate can return to plead with the voters again using sugar-coated words to gain votes. “Let us put a stop to all these frogs by rejecting them,” he added.
