Political secretary, Soo Li Ching blasts Chong Chieng Jen

Soo Li Ching, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Sarawak blasted MP Stamping, Chong Chieng Jen’s statement as he stated that the Pakatan Harapan did not promise an increase of oil royalty from the present 5 percent to 20 percent unconditionally.

“ If Chong is truly for the Sarawakians, I challenge Chong to tell the Prime Minister Dr.Mahathir and Petronas that if no 20 percent of oil royalties given, stop all the operation in Sarawak, instead of keep on giving excuses to cover their failure to fulfill their promise. I believe all the Sarawakians will have the same feeling of being cheated by the sweet talk of being given back the 20 percent of the oil royalties and 50 percent of all tax revenues collected in Sarawak,” she said.

Soo said according to Chong, he claimed that Sarawak Government had rejected proposals or package offered by PH before the GE14. She reminded him that when Malaya took our oil resources for the development of Malaya, there was no condition from Sarawak. She asked why  Sarawak, when claiming back 20 percent of the oil royalties, must come with condition as it does not make sense for somebody when claiming their own property or money, has to fulfill certain condition to get back what actually belong to them.

The Chief Minister of Sarawak, she pointed out, has mentioned that Sarawak Government has submitted a new formula to the federal government on revenue sharing with Petronas, Chong said it is between CM and PM. It seems to us that Chong has no proper locus standi or has any say on the 20 percent oil royalites and 50 percent tax revenues as Sarawak Pakatan Harapan is abide and obedient to whatever decided by the Malaya PH or our Prime Minister.

She said Sarawak Government under Gabungan Party Sarawak (GPS) stand firm to fight for Sarawak interest, our main objective is to fight for the Sarawak First, unlike the party from Malaya, Malaya First. With all the unfulfilled promises by PH, i believe the Sarawakians will know who to choose the best to protect the interest of Sarawak. The ” shared prosperity” as claimed by PH is just slogan and all talks.
