GPS Youth will not condone non GPS members in cabinet
GPS youth leaders from PBB, SUPP, PDP and PRS will not tolerate non-GPS members in the Cabinet enjoying all the privileges and resources in the GPS Government, while leading a non-GPS political party to recruit members from GPS with a clear intent to disrupt GPS’s stability and solidarity among its component parties.
The decision was made after Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) announced that Sri Aman MP Datuk Masir Kujat together with other former Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) leaders namely Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun and Datuk William Nyallau had joined PSB, the GPS Youth would like to make the following press release that:
Despite the annoucment, 2 PSB state assembly members, namely Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh and Datuk Jerip Susil are holding portfolios in the Cabinet of the GPS government, PSB, a non-GPS component party’s present act of accepting a GPS MP and two former PRS leaders into the party, is considered as an act of mockery and enmity against GPS, said the GPS Youth in a joint statement.
The Statement added that GPS’s core principles are based on unity and cooperation within and between component parties. GPS’s effort is to unite Sarawakians to fight for a better future for Sarawak. Our view is that the newly formed party does not go in line with the above mentioned core principles of GPS. We find it weird and strange that certain members which oppose the core principles of GPS are also the members of our State Government executives. We believe that YAB CM’s wisdom will resovle this issue for the betterment of Sarawak and we GPS Youth fully supports our YAB CM’s views on this matter.
GPS is entrusted by Sarawakians to pursue our state rights and position in so far as MA63 is concerned, simultaneously we cannot allow any divisive politicking to distract our focus in putting Sarawak First; Sarawak needs a strong and dedicated local based political alliance to safeguard Sarawak’s rights and interests, not a platform to divide but to unite our struggle for putting Sarawak First. Therefore GPS is the only local based political alliance that has the experience and strength to bring and lead Sarawak and her people towards a promising future and stronger era.
We, the GPS youth stands united and firm to defend and confront any malicious attempts to destroy and divide the harmonious Sarawakian community.
