Throw rubbish into the bins provided, Yap told residents of MJC
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap said the issue of making sure that the waste is properly thrown into rubbish bins lies with the management corporation, business owners and residents of MJC Batu Kawah New Township.
He said they should not rely wholly on MPP and Trienekens for cleanliness of the rubbish dumping holding area,
Yap who went with staff from MPP and Trienekens to inspect and assess the situation recently added that the complaints arise because the people throwing the waste were not throwing it properly into the rubbish bins provided by Trienekens which causes the surrounding areas to be smelly and unsightly.
He hoped that the management corporation, residents and business owners of MJC Batu Kawah New Township to be proactive in the cleanliness of their own business and residential area and together with MPP to build a beautiful, clean and sustainable commercial and residential area.
This issue of the unsightly and smelly rubbish, said Yap, is a long outstanding problem which requires permanent solution as MPP and Trienekens have already on many occasions clean up the indiscriminate rubbish area only to see the same problem occurring.
He said the public should be made aware that indiscriminately dumping rubbish costs rate payers a lot of money each year in removal charges.
Asking the public to play their role by assisting MPP through reporting or lodging a complaint if they see anyone indiscriminately dumping rubbish, Yap urged the public to report to MPP or the management corporation, the offenders who dispose rubbish indiscriminately by giving information such as the registration number of the offender’s vehicle, location, date, time, description of rubbish and description of offender. A photo of the offender of illegal rubbish dumping taken from a hand phone will be very effective in identifying the offender.
