SUPP Bawang Assan Youth Chief Elson Tie criticized Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs Chong Chieng Jen for advocating the image of individual heroism and attempting to mislead the people through the media.

Elson expressed his disappointment and thought that this would not solve the problem of the people of Sarawak, but is just for political purposes.

Responding to Chong’s recent remark that Pakatan Harapan (PH) has made an offer to Sarawak government on returning of 20% oil royalties and 50% tax collected from Sarawak together with Sarawak autonomies in educational and medical field, Elson said “If Chong, as a representative from Sarawak, managed to voice out for Sarawak in the federal government, then it’s a blessing for Sarawakians”.

Elson, who is also SUPP Youth Central Organizing Secretary, urged Chong to come up with all the related formal approvals in order to prove that he did speak on behalf of federal government and PH has reached a decision to return to Sarawak what they have promised.
