Dr Sim: branches must be united to stay strong
Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Simanggang, Lingga and Pantu branches have to unite to strengthen the party so that it can stand firm with other Barisan Nasional (BN) Sarawak component parties.
SUPP president Datuk Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian said such close cooperation between parties must start from the people on the ground.
“If we’re always united and stay cooperative with one another, our party would remain strong,” he said during SUPP’s 59th anniversary celebration at the residence of its Simanggang branch president, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis yesterday.
The event hosted around 1,200 SUPP members from Simanggang, Lingga and Pantu.
Dr Sim also handed over corporate shirts to a group of youths who joined the party. Simanggang SUPP Women chief Ling Siew Hung was also present.
