SUPP women section reaching out – for Zafari

47 year-old Zafari bin Ambi, a father of six (aged between 10 to 18 years old), has been plagued with misfortune since last year.

Zafari who once worked for the Borneo Hotel, was forced to quit his job last year after being handicapped following a stroke.

Wheelchair-bound Zafari who was the sole bread-winner of the family, could only rely on his 18 year old daughter who is working part time earning a small income for the family.

His wife is a full-time housewife who is staying at home to take care of him.

To add to the family’s adversity, his son aged 15, was recently been diagnosed with leukemia.

His former colleagues who knew of his condition tried to chip in by providing food items and daily necessities.

SUPP Central Women’s welfare officer also stepped in to help Zafari in applying for social welfare aid but the amount they had was barely enough to help out the family.

The woman section is therefore appealing to the general public to lend a helping hand and donate whatever they can to help the family.

For those who wish to help, they can contact the SUPP Central Women Section at 082-246999 for details.

Zafari receives donation from a representative of his former co-workers, Yeo Bak Hwa.
