Dato Sebastian Statement
We are all against the implementation of hudud law.
For Sarawak SUPP is definitely strongly against this implementation. We shall uphold the Federal Constitution which upholds
the freedom of religion.
We are very concerned with the impact and the consequences that will follow if the Private Bill is passed in Parliament. The two
judiciary systems will have serious consequences on family and their children when one of the parents decides to convert and embraces Islam. The Syriah Court seems to prevail over civil court. The recent case is very glaring of this unfortunate consequences.
The dangers are real and we must stop at all cost the passing of this Private Bill.
